You will likely have to apply for a government grant in order to receive funding for your organization. This means that you will have to create a proposal. Proposals take a lot of work and need to be very well written, explaining the entire purpose and plan for your children’s charity.

You should organize a team for your charity because no one person can do something so large on their own. You need to have a well put together team that all believes in striving for the same purpose. When you have a group of people that are all working towards the same goal, you will quickly see results. Most charities have a well structured system that consisting of a President, Vice President and Secretary. It helps to keep everything running smoothly when everyone has their own important task to do.

You are going to have to look into all of the legal rules and implications for charities in your area. This may vary depending on where you live. Always make sure that you are doing everything according to the law so that you do not risk any hassle later on. Make sure that it is clearly stated that your organization is non-profit and have that registered with the IRS for legal and tax purposes.

Once you have all of the necessary and drawn out legal issues dealt with, you will have to get started by reaching out to your community. Build a web site as well so that you can easily refer people to it for more information. Make sure that it is easy to read and navigate. Make some business cards and flyers too because if no one knows about your charity, they will not be able to make a donation. Plan some fundraisers as well so that you can get people together, sharing an interest in your cause and getting to know you better. Starting a children’s charity will be a lot of hard work but no doubt it will be extremely rewarding.
